NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD) — The Normal Town Council voted to approve extending a moratorium during its meeting on Monday.
It deals with issuing short-term rental licenses for residential properties. In November, the council voted on a six-month moratorium.
Town officials needed time to evaluate alternatives for those businesses. Officials said potential land-use bills from the state legislature could impact the town’s regulations.
Since the state legislature is scheduled to adjourn on May 31, town officials approved the extension of the moratorium for another month until July 1.
