Tim Mapes, Mike Madigan’s ex-chief of Staff sentenced to prison

CHICAGO – The former right-hand man to Illinois Speaker Mike Madigan has been sentenced to prison.

At the Dirksen Federal Courthouse in Chicago, Federal John Kness sentenced Tim Mapes to 30 months behind bars.

Mapes, the one-time chief of staff to former Speaker Madigan, was convicted of perjury and obstruction of justice last year.

Mapes is the fifth member of former Speaker Madigan’s former inner circle to be found guilty.

Last year, Michael McClain and three others were found guilty of bribery conspiracy charges.
