MCLEAN COUNTY – 42-years after being found dead from an apparent suicide, McLean County prosecutors want to learn more about why a McLean County woman died.
It’s been a cold case for prosecutors, who began investigating the case after a woman was found hanging from a utility pole in rural McLean County between LeRoy and Bellflower.
At the time, investigators determined the woman had committed suicide, but an investigation revealed that several individuals had seen her before her death.
During an investigation, authorities found a keychain that investigators traced back to New York City, but investigators found that the address did not exist.
The woman will undergo investigative Genetic Genealogy testing in partnership with McLean County investigators.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the McLean County Sheriff’s Office.
