BLOOMINGTON – Two Bloomington men were arrested for numerous drugs and weapons offenses after police broke up a party at a park in Normal.
Nakolis Spiller, 23, and Keon Spiller 21, of Bloomington, were arrested during a traffic stop after police broke up a party at around 4:44 p.m. Friday, April 29.
Normal Police say Naoklis was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon/vehicle and possession of cannabis.
Keon was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of meth, and manufacture/delivery of cannabis.
On Friday, police were investigating a large party that had gathered at Underwood Park. Officers observed alcohol was being served and began dispersing the party.
As the party was dispersing, officers conducted a traffic stop due to an Illinois Vehicle Code violation. Officers spoke with the occupants of the vehicle and determined probable cause existed to search the vehicle.
A search turned up a Taurus brand handgun, an AR-15 Rifle, multiple loaded firearm magazines and loose ammunition as well as over 69 grams of cannabis packaged for individual sale and 10 pills of MDMA/Ecstasy.
Further investigation determined one suspect had additional cannabis on his person which was located at the McLean County Jail.
In total 166.5 grams of cannabis, 10 Ecstasy pills, 2 firearms and 41 rounds of ammunition were seized throughout this investigation.
Police also say a juvenile was also arrested in relation to this investigation.
“The arrests and seizures of illegal firearms and street drugs in this incident is a direct result of a multi-agency collaborative effort to keep our community safe,” Normal Police Chief Steve Petrilli said.
