BLOOMINGTON – The District 87 school district is looking to tab one of their own to serve as the next Principal at Washington Elementary School.
Pending board approval, the district is promoting Zach Freeman from Instructional Coach at Stevenson Elementary to the Principal role.
Freeman has earned a Bachelor’s degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in Elementary Education with a Middle School Social Sciences Endorsement.
In addition, Freeman has also earned two Master’s degrees from Illinois State University in Educational Administration & Foundations Type 75 and in STEM Education & Leadership.
“I have been a part of the Washington School family since my student teaching in 2005 and feel a deep connection and passion for Washington and District 87,” Freeman said in a release. “I look forward to fulfilling my commitments as an educational leader in the coming years.”
Freeman’s resume includes serving as a 5th-grade teacher at Washington Elementary School from 2010 to 2021.
The district’s school board is expected to vote on the matter at next week’s board meeting.
