BLOOMINGTON – A 35-year old man is facing felony charges in McLean County for allegedly biting a police officer in the leg.

Early Sunday morning, around 2:40 a.m., Bloomington Police responded to 104 Valley View Circle for a report of a male who allegedly kicked down a woman’s front door.

Once on the scene, Police heard Lamont Woods arguing with a woman inside, who was previously in a dating relationship and share a child in common.

According to a statement of arrest, the victim told Woods to leave, but he refused. Police say Woods allegedly approached the victim and attempted to take her phone away.

During a struggle, Woods allegedly grabbed the victim’s arm, causing a cut to her arm, which was bleeding.

Police reportedly told Woods he was under arrest for domestic battery, but Woods allegedly became more and more irate.

Once outside the home, Woods allegedly attempted to run back into the residence.

Police say officers chased after Woods into the home, where Woods allegedly charged an officer and was eventually taken to the ground.

While arresting Woods, authorities say Woods allegedly bit an officer in the leg, leaving a bite mark.

Police say another officer suffered a bloody lip in the struggle.

Woods faces multiple counts of domestic battery, aggravated battery to a police officer, and resisting arrest.

Woods remains behind bars at the McLean County Jail on a $50,000 bond and is due back in court on March 11.
