NORMAL – Local public works crews continue to clear roadways and the Town of Normal has started removing snow from residential areas.
Ryan Otto, the town’s director of public works and engineering, says crews began plowing side streets Wednesday afternoon. He says crews are working 24-hours and snow removal will likely continue the next few days.
“Believe all of our streets are now open, but they are snow covered and slick,” said Otto. “So we do ask if you have to go out be careful. If you can stay home, go ahead and do that, because crews will still be out plowing and working to clean up intersections.”
As of Thursday morning, the National Weather Service is reporting between 10 to 12 inches of snow accumulation throughout Bloomington-Normal.
