NORMAL – A 70-year old man from Normal has been arrested after a McLean County grand jury indicted him on 45 counts alleging he was in possession of child pornography.
The grand jury handed up indictments Wednesday and a warrant was issued for David Fry’s arrest following a Normal Police investigation that started in September 2020, prosecutors said.
Class 2 felony charges allege Fry should have known the children depicted in pornographic photos were younger than 13, while the Class 3 felonies against Fry allege he should have known the children were younger than 18.
Fry faces consecutive prison sentences if he’s found guilty, but he could also get probation.
A release from the Normal Police Department says search warrants were executed leading to the seizure of Fry’s electronic storage devices.
Forensic examination of those devices determined they contained images of child pornography.
Fry was jailed on $500,000 bond, which means he has to come up with $50,000 to be released from jail.
Fry’s next court appearance is February 4.
