BLOOMINGTON – Two additional people in McLean County have died from COVID-19, as health officials report 52 new cases of COVID-19.
The latest deaths are a female in her 80’s and one male in his 90’s, who were both associated with long-term care facilities.
There have been 278 COVID-related deaths in the county since the start of the pandemic.
In addition, officials report 217 people are isolated at home, while 22,837 people have been released from isolation and are considered recovered.
At last count, 14 McLean County residents are hospitalized due to COVID-19. Local officials report 11 people are hospitalized in twin city hospitals with COVID-19.
McLean County hospitals are reporting 65% of ICU beds in use and 90% of total beds in use, compared to 77% of ICU beds in use and 85% of total beds in use on Wednesday.
The county’s cumulative positivity rate is 4.1%, and the rolling 7-day positivity rate is 2.0%.
Officials report approximately 199,880 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the county, and 55.70% of the population are fully vaccinated.
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), 57.38% of Illinois residents are fully vaccinated.
