BLOOMINGTON – A McLean County woman remained jailed late Monday on charges she defrauded two elderly people of more than $130,000.
A grand jury handed up indictments last week against Sarra Dukich, also known as Sarra Murray, who has residences in Bloomington and Lexington, according to authorities.
The charges allege the 26-year old woman was in a position of “trust or confidence” with a man and woman, both older than 70, when she took the money on June 9, 2020.
Dukich is charged with four Class 1 felonies, each carrying mandatory prison sentences of 4 to 15 years in prison if she’s convicted.
She’s being held on $100,000 bond, meaning she has to come up with $10,000 cash to be released from the McLean County jail.
Prosecutors said the charges follow a Bloomington Police investigation, but details were not released about Dukich’s relationship to the alleged victims.
Her next court date is scheduled for November 12.
