MCHD reports another COVID-related death along with 124 new cases

BLOOMINGTON – Another McLean County resident has died from COVID-19, as health officials report 124 new virus cases since Friday.

McLean County Health officials report the latest death is a male in his 60’s who is not associated with a long-term care facility.

Additionally, officials report county hospitals are nearing capacity with 92% of ICU beds and 96% of total beds in use.

At last count, 30 people remain hospitalized in the county, with 26 McLean County residents.

The county’s cumulative positivity rate held steady at 4.5% from Friday, but the rolling 7-day positivity rate dipped to 2.5% from 2.9%.

There have been 257 COVID-related deaths in the county since the start of the pandemic.

Officials also report 185,645 doses of the vaccine have been administered in the county, and 53.95% of the population are fully vaccinated.
