BLOOMINGTON – This year’s WJBC Laborer of the Year is Ronn Morehead.

Morehead passed away earlier this year but left behind a legacy of giving back to the community.
Ronn was the Trades & Labor President for over 40 years, annually helped organize the Labor Day Parade, the Children’s Christmas Party for Unemployed Families, and served on multiple community and statewide boards.
Ronn’s granddaughter, Samantha Morehead, spoke with WJBC’s Scott Miller.
“He would want others to shine and not himself, but to his family and friends, this is such a wonderful way to honor him for what he has done. And hopefully remind others that we should kind of carry on what he started and continue that.”
Samantha and other family members will ride at the parade’s beginning in Ronn’s honor.
The Labor Day Parade marches from Front Street in downtown Bloomington to Miller Park on Monday at 10 a.m.
