NORMAL – A singer who is performing at The Corn Crib later this month is requiring all attendees to be vaccinated or show a negative COVID-19 test.
Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit are scheduled to perform at the stadium on Aug. 21. Isbell made the announcement earlier this week through The Castle Theatre, the event organizer.
Our news partner Heart of Illinois ABC spoke with The Castle Theatre’s owner Rory O’Connor who said they will comply with Isbell’s requirement.
O’Connor said a handful of people have requested a refund after this week’s announcement, but others have said this makes them feel more comfortable attending the event.
At the concert, security will be checking vaccine cards and COVID tests at the door for anyone coming into the event.
O’Connor also believed The Corn Crib is a safer venue because the concert will be held outside which typically allows for more social distancing than indoor events.
According to the release, those who are unable to adhere to these testing and vaccination requirements and have purchased tickets directly through The Castle Theatre, may request a refund by emailing [email protected].
