LINCOLN – A heat advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Tuesday for all of central and southeast Illinois, with widespread heat index values of 105 to 110 degrees.
The National Weather Service in Lincoln says high temperatures Tuesday will be between 90 and 94 degrees.

If you have to do any outdoor activity, try to do it early morning or in the evening to avoid the worst of the heat, said NWS.
A reminder to drink plenty of water and do not leave children or pets unattended in vehicles.
