BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington-Normal is a finalist to land a $1 billion development, one of the biggest deals the area’s economic development chief said he has ever seen.
Patrick Hoban, chief executive officer for the Bloomington-Normal Economic Development Council (EDC), confirmed to Heart of Illinois ABC the community is competing against two other finalists in other states.
Hoban said representatives of the proposed project have made two trips to McLean County and they’ll will return next week.
Hoban said he can’t reveal too much information because “premature release of confidential details about any project will jeopardize our chances for closing the deal.”
He noted the EDC hosts representatives from multiple projects every month, and the area is a finalist for many of those developments.
