BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Health Department recommends that the public follow the latest CDC guidance for masking in public indoor settings to help control the spread of the virus.
According to the CDC Data Tracker, McLean County is currently experiencing substantial community transmission based on the 7-day moving average of new cases.
Local health officials are reporting 130 new cases of coronavirus over the past week and one additional death, bringing the number of lives lost to 241.
The health department says there eight McLean County residents in the hospital due to COVID and 111 people are in home isolation. The county’s rolling positivity rate inched up to 2.9%.
Here’s an age breakdown of the new cases reported over the last week:
- Under 1: 1
- 1-17: 32
- 18-19: 4
- 20s: 24
- 30s: 23
- 40s: 20
- 50s: 9
- 60s: 10
- 70s: 8
- 80s: -1
Starting Thursday, the health department will again be providing daily COVID-19 updates during the week to keep the public informed and updated on vaccination progress and community transmission.
