NORMAL – Following a 2020 pandemic postponement, Make Music Normal is returning this fall.
The free-to-attend music festival in Uptown Normal will take place September 10 and 11.
Town of Normal Civic Arts Manager Adam Fox says the footprint of the event will be a little smaller, but will still feature regional acts.
“Really, really excited about who we have playing and who we have lined up,” Fox told WJBC’s Scott Miller.
Bloomington native Matthew Curry is making his Make Music Normal debut. A mixture of returning favorites and acts making their debut include:
- Chicago Farmer & the Field Notes
- Dan Hubbard with Matthew Pittman
- Alabama Getaway feat. Edward David Anderson
- Disorganizer
- Glenn Wilson & Friends
- Straight Answer Jazz Trio
- Taylor Steele & the Love Preachers
- V8 Vast Change
- Wayward Motel
This year’s focus was to bring back acts that had been slated to take part in the 2020 event. However, the festival continues to offer opportunities for open mic and sit-in sessions. Artists interested in performing are encouraged to watch the event’s social media pages and uptownnormal.com.
