BLOOMINGTON – Illinois has reached Phase 5 of the reopening plan which means no capacity limits for groups, businesses, and events.
State Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike is applauding everyone for helping the state reach this point.
“I’m so excited, especially for those who are vaccinated and the freedoms they are getting back that the virus stole from us,” Ezike told WJBC’s Scott Miller. “And for my unvaccinated friends, continue to do the research and talk to your doctor. 95% of physicians have been vaccinated. Ask you doctor why he or she got the vaccine and why you should as well.”

In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks will still be required on public transportation, in health care settings, and at school. Businesses may require masks in their stores.
Unvaccinated Illinoisans are encouraged to continue social distancing and wearing a mask when out in public.
