BLOOMINGTON – After five months, another option for the homeless population in McLean County re-opened again, Monday.
The Bread For Life food co-op on East Oakland Avenue in Bloomington opened the doors again and will be open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
They do ask that you work there in order to shop there.
Home Sweet Home Ministries closed down their food operations for two weeks to prepare for this moment Monday.
“We are definitely a lot more visible and it is a far more accessible location than being in the basement of our shelter,” said Matt Burgess, CEO of Home Sweet Home Ministries.
They hope the new look reminds people of a grocery store.
The new location offers better equipment to process donations too in order to use those ingredients to make more food items people can take home with them.
