ISU to appoint new president this week

NORMAL – The 20th president of Illinois State University will be announced this Friday.

The university’s Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting Friday at 9 a.m. to appoint the new president. According to the resolution, the president will receive an annual salary of $375,000.

ISU’s presidential search committee started its work back in February. Over 50 candidates applied for the job and last week, members of the committee met with the four finalists.

ISU President Larry Dietz announced his retirement late last year. He has served as the university’s president for seven years and has spent 50 years in higher education.
