MCHD reports 142 new cases of coronavirus

BLOOMINGTON – McLean County added 142 new cases of coronavirus since Friday as the rolling positivity rate held steady at 4.9%.

The number of active cases continues to rise, sitting at 424 as of Monday. There are 27 McLean County residents in the hospital due to COVID and the rest are in home isolation.

“The McLean County Health Department is concerned about the rise in COVID-19 cases,” according to a news release Monday. “We are asking residents to help us spread the word that now is not the time to stop taking precautions. Please continue the masking, social distancing and hand-washing guidelines that have worked so well to reduce the spread of this virus over the past year.”

McLean County hospitals are reporting 85% of ICU beds and 83% of total beds in use.

There have been 207 COVID-related deaths in the county.

Around 68,901 doses have been administered in McLean County. According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, 13.38% of the county’s population has been fully vaccinated. Vaccine information from the health department can be found here.
