SPRINGFIELD – Illinois House Republicans want their voices heard – as the state spends stimulus money and puts together a budget. Rep. Keith Wheeler (R-Oswego) says the supermajority Democrats should decide how much to spend, once and for all, and stick to it.
“We need to take our budget process to a higher level for all of us, and that starts with a revenue estimate which serves as a spending cap on Springfield,” Wheeler told a virtual news conference.
“The politicians in Springfield really need to get back to reality,” added Rep. C.D. Davidsmeyer (R-Jacksonville), “and understand that we can’t keep making promises when we can’t fulfill the promises that were made years and years ago.
