FARMER CITY – The victim of a crash Thursday morning on Interstate 74 has been identified.
Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup says Jordan Reinhart-Smith, 28, of LeRoy was pronounced dead at 9:16 a.m. Friday at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Illinois State Police say Reinhart was driving eastbound on I-74 near Farmer City and lost control of his truck on an icy bridge. The truck hit the guardrail and became disabled in the left lane. ISP says the front end of a semi-tractor trailer struck the driver’s side door.
According to LeRoy High School, Reinhart was a football coach at the school. The community has set up a GoFundMe page for his family.
