ISP says a preliminary investigation indicates the LeRoy man was driving eastbound and lost control of his truck on an icy bridge. The truck hit the guardrail and became disabled in the left lane. Police say the front end of a semi-tractor trailer struck the driver’s side door. The driver was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was later pronounced dead. The man’s identify is being withheld until family is notified.
Authorities say all eastbound and westbound lanes were shut down for the traffic crash investigation and cleanup of debris. All lanes were reopened almost three hours after the crash.
