Winter storm warning for McLean County remains in effect until Tuesday morning

BLOOMINGTON – A winter storm warning remains in effect until 6 a.m. Tuesday as we could see additional snow accumulations of four to seven inches, according to the National Weather Service in Lincoln.

Travel is being impacted across the area with slick road conditions and blowing snow reducing visibility. Cathy Beck is the assistant director of the McLean County Emergency Management Agency.

“Ideally people should stay home, but if they do need to travel they need to take the general winter driving precautions,” said Beck. “Full tank of gas, make sure you have a blanket, some snacks, so if you are to break down, go into a ditch, or get in an accident, you can survive for a few hours until someone can get to you. Because even emergency crews are having the same struggles as everyone else.”
