BLOOMINGTON – The number of active coronavirus cases in McLean County continues to decline as local health officials Wednesday reported 26 new cases.
There are 18 McLean County residents in the hospital due to COVID and 315 residents are in home isolation, according to the health department. Last week, there were 421 active cases.
“Testing remains an important tool in the fight against the pandemic,” said McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight. “Testing helps to identify new cases of COVID-19 quickly and allows public health to notify close contacts so they can quarantine and prevent further spread of the virus. The county’s rolling positivity rate dropped to 3.4%. 25 additional people were released from isolation, now 13,690 have recovered.
McLean County hospitals are reporting 65% of ICU beds and 89% of total beds in use. There have been 160 COVID-related deaths in the county.
