BLOOMINGTON – McLean County added 100 new cases of coronavirus since Friday and health officials are advising people to get tested if you attended a Super Bowl party.

“Testing remains an important tool in the fight against the pandemic. Testing helps to identify new cases of COVID-19 quickly and allows public health to notify close contacts so they can quarantine and prevent further spread of the virus,” said McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight. “If you attended a Super Bowl party with people from outside your household with unmasked activities please consider getting tested 5-7 days after the gathering.”

There are 20 McLean County residents in the hospital due to COVID and 351 are in home isolation. McLean County hospitals are reporting 54% of ICU beds and 74% of total beds in use.

The county’s rolling positivity rate inched up to 3.8%. Another 160 people were released from isolation and are considered recovered.

There have been 152 COVID-related deaths in the county.

Pritzker, recall another Illinois Governor who protested the incursion of armed federal personnel into the city.   Those federal troops, rather than calming, escalated the situation, leading to deaths and violence. In these troubled times, to my fellow white Americans

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
