BLOOMINGTON – A high bond has been set for a Bloomington man jailed on new drug dealing charges because of prior drug convictions and a decades-old fatal shooting that killed a teenager.
A judge set bond for Corey Edwards, 46, at $500,000, meaning he has to come up with $50,000 cash to be released from the McLean County Jail.
Edwards is charged with four counts of delivering cocaine and another count of delivering methamphetamines as part of an undercover Bloomington Police investigation last year.
At the time of the alleged drug deals, Edwards was on parole after serving half of a 20-year prison sentence for delivery of a controlled substance.
Edwards also served a four-year prison sentence for involuntary manslaughter for fatally shooting Dennis D.J. Stanton, who was 15 when he was killed in Normal in November of 1991.
