BLOOMINGTON – A high bond has been set for a man accused of sexually abusing a teenager in the Twin-Cities because prosecutors say he is a registered sex offender.

Jacob Allen Terrell-Chandler, 22, is charged with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse for sex crimes that reportedly occurred between January and June of this year. The charges say the alleged victim is between 13 and 17-years old, according to our news partner HOI ABC.

A judge set bond for Terrell-Chandler at $250,000, meaning he has to post $25,000 cash to be released from the McLean County Jail.

Court records indicate Terrell-Chandler pleaded guilty in June to attempted aggravated criminal sexual abuse in Woodford County. He was sentenced to six-months in jail and 30-months of probation for that offense.

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
