NORMAL – Illinois State University will have a new athletic director next school year.

ISU President Larry Dietz announced Kyle Brennan would serve as the next AD after current AD Larry Lyons announced his retirement at the end of 2020.

Brennan, who previously served as Utah’s chief operating officer and deputy athletics director for internal operations, will officially start his ISU position on January 15.

“Kyles skills and leadership experiences make him an excellent fit for Illinois State, and his terrific attitude perfectly complements a diverse and well-rounded background,” ISU President Larry Dietz said in a news release. “I also want to offer special thanks to our Director of Athletics search committee and to our current AD Larry Lyons for delaying his retirement to accommodate a smooth transition.”

Brennan comes to ISU with over 16-years of combined University and athletic department experiences at Northern Illinois, TCU, Ball State, and Utah.

Brennan will be ISU’s 12th AD in NCAA Division I era.

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
