BLOOMINGTON – Reditus Laboratories in Pekin has processed more than 1 million COVID-19 tests since the start of the pandemic.
By surpassing that milestone, Reditus has processed roughly one of every 12 tests in Illinois.
Reditus CEO, Dr. Aaron Rossi, told news partner Heart of Illinois ABC the company reached the million mark in November, but no one realized it because they’ve been so busy.
Rossi said his workforce went from a handful to about 200 to keep up with the surge in testing.
Reditus has a contract to perform COVID testing at Illinois State University and runs the McLean County Fairground testing site.
As of December 16, Reditus said it had processed 1.55 million COVID tests.
Rossi said the company’s work is putting Central Illinois on the map when it comes to healthcare.
