IDPH reports 7,377 new cases of coronavirus

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health Friday reported 7,377 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus and 181 additional deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 886,805 cases, including 15,015 deaths.

Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 112,292 tests for a total 12,259,595. As of last night, 4,690 in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 1,023 patients were in the ICU and 589 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.

The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity rate is 8.0%.
