4 additional COVID-related deaths reported in McLean County

BLOOMINGTON – Local health officials Tuesday reported four more coronavirus-related deaths as the number of McLean County residents hospitalized nearly doubled.

A woman and a man in their 70s not associated with long-term care facilities as well as a woman in her 80s and a man in his 90s who lived in long-term care facilities have died, according to McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight. There have been 73 COVID-related deaths in the county.

29 McLean County residents are reported to be hospitalized due to COVID and 1,140 are in home isolation. Local hospitals are reporting 92% of ICU beds in use and 83% of total beds in use.

“Stay home as much as possible, wear a mask, follow guidance for isolation and quarantine, wash your hands, and practice social distancing,” said McKnight.”

The county’s rolling positivity rate inched up to 9.6%. 180 additional people were released from isolation, now 8,990 have recovered.
