McLean County 7-day positivity rate above 14%

BLOOMINGTON – McLean County’s 7-day rolling positivity rate increased to over 14% as health officials announce 163 new cases of COVID-19.

McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight reports 18 residents are hospitalized due to the virus.

“Our local hospitals are reporting 75% of ICU beds in use with 17% of total beds available.”

McKnight reports 27% of beds currently in use in McLean County are for COVID patients.

At this time 1,531 individuals are isolating at home, and 5,292 individuals have been release from isolation.

More than 120,500 tests have been resulted for a cumulative positivity rate of 5.7%. The rolling 7-day positivity rate is 14.1%.

“The positivity rate in our county and across our region continues to rise, and we are experiencing substantial community spread,” McKnight said. “Everyone should take steps to protect themselves, their communities, and people who are at increased risk for severe illness.”

There have been 45 COVID-related deaths in the county.
