McLean County Health Dept.: Two deaths and more than 500 new COVID-19 cases

BLOOMINGTON – Two more McLean County residents have died from COVID-19, while county officials announced the highest one-day positive cases since the pandemic began.

On Monday, health officials reported 507 new cases of COVID-19, increasing the county’s total to 6,723. Officials also say 15 residents are hospitalized due to COVID-19, with zero residents in Intensive Care.

“Our local hospitals are reporting 75% of ICU beds in use, and 24% of total beds are available,” said McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight. “At this time, 1,544 individuals are isolating at home. This is the highest number of active cases in McLean County has seen to date. Due to the number of active cases, contacts, and newly reported cases, you may not receive a call from us immediately if you have tested positive.”

More than 119,100 tests have resulted in a cumulative positivity rate of 5.6%. The rolling 7-day positivity rate is 13.7%.

At this time, officials report 5,119 individuals have been released from isolation and are considered recovered.
