BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Health Department Wednesday reported two additional coronavirus-related deaths, bringing the county’s number of lives lost to 36.
MCHD Administrator Jessica McKnight said a man in his 60s and a woman in her 90s died, and both were associated with long-term care facilities. According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, almost half of the COVID-related deaths in McLean County have come from long-term care facilities. There are currently nine facilities in the county dealing with outbreaks.
The health department announced 39 new cases of COVID as the county’s rolling positivity rate inched up to 5.6%.
There are 11 people currently hospitalized and 393 are isolating at home. 26 more people were released from isolation, now 3,811 have recovered from the virus.
