BLOOMINGTON – The annual Bed Blitz event hosted by the West Bloomington Revitalization Project has been postponed due to COVID-19.
“In order to do our part in keeping our neighborhood and community safe, we have decided to postpone the annual Bed Blitz event held in October,” said Robert Bosquez, coordinator of the Bed Blitz.
The annual event gives local youth a twin-size bed frame, a brand new mattress, sheets, pillows, a blanket or quilt, laundry detergent, books, a hygiene kit, and a teddy bear. This entire kit is given away for free thanks to individual donors and corporate sponsors. Over 120 beds were given away in 2019.
Bosquez said the event will be postponed until sometime in the spring.
