99 new COVID cases in McLean County; Positivity rate still over 10%

BLOOMINGTON – McLean County health officials Thursday reported 99 new coronavirus cases as the active case total is over 900.

The McLean County Health Department said there are 919 active cases, eight people are in the hospital, three of those in intensive care, and 911 are isolating at home. 17 additional people have been released from isolation, as 1,160 have recovered. There have been 16 lives lost.

McLean County’s rolling positivity rate inched up from 10.1% to 10.5%, well above the statewide rate of 4.5%.

Meanwhile, 68 additional students at Illinois State University tested positive, the university’s total now 1,178. ISU’s rolling positivity rate dropped slightly to 21.1%. The coronavirus total among students at Illinois Wesleyan University is 78.
