BLOOMINGTON – McLean County Thursday added 56 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the county total to 1,292.

McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight said there are 496 active cases, three people are currently hospitalized, down from four Wednesday, and 493 are isolating at home. 14 additional people have been released from isolation, now 780 recovered, and there have been 16-COVID related deaths.
The county’s rolling seven-day positivity rate inched up to 8.4%, well above the statewide rate of 4.0%.
“We have had nearly 250 new cases of COVID reported in McLean County since Monday and have seen the positivity rate in our county and region increasing,” said McKnight. “We continue to keep a close eye on these data indicators and are sharing situational updates with our local leaders to help them make informed decisions about implementing additional precautions.”
The target indicators include new cases, number of deaths, positivity rates, testing, and hospital availability.
A majority of the new cases have been people ages 18-29.
