6 new cases of COVID-19 in McLean County

BLOOMINGTON – McLean County health officials on Monday reported six new cases of coronavirus, bringing the county total to 321.

The McLean County Health Department said of the 321 confirmed cases, 47 individuals are isolating at home and two are currently hospitalized. 257 people have recovered from the virus and there have been 15 deaths in the county.

“We all need to work together to slow the spread of COVID-19,” said MCHD Administrator Jessica McKnight. “If you are diagnosed with COVID-19, an employee (case investigator) from your local health department will call you to check-in on your health, discuss who you’ve been in contact with and, and ask you to stay at home to self-isolate. It is important that case investigators can quickly locate and talk with the patients, assist in arranging for them to isolate themselves, and work to identify people with whom they have been in close contact so the contact tracer can locate them.”

There have been over 16,200 tests in McLean County for a positivity rate of 2.0%. The rolling 7-day positivity rate is 2.2%. The testing site at the Interstate Center in Bloomington reported single-day highs for a weekend. There were 300 tests conducted on Saturday and 266 on Sunday, according to the McLean County Emergency Management Agency.

Meanwhile, the Illinois Department of Public Health on Monday announced 883 new cases of coronavirus, including 6 additional deaths. The statewide total is now 154,799, including 7,193 deaths.
