WASHINGTON, Ill. – The Washington Police Department is investigating the death of Kyle D. McMurtrey as a homicide.
McMurtrey’s body was discovered behind the Washington Plaza Wednesday, June 17.
Washington Police Chief Mike McCoy says the city hasn’t seen a homicide in the last two years.
McCoy said there there isn’t a reason for the people of Washington to be on alert.
McCoy also said there wasn’t a connection between McMurtrey and the attack on a 72-year-old woman Monday, June 22 in Sunnyland.
