BLOOMINGTON – Nine men and three women will decide whether or not 19-year-old Christopher Harrison is guilty of shooting and killing two men in Normal in April of 2018.
Prosecutors allege that on April 25, 2018, Harrison, who was 17 at the time, shot and killed 20-year-old Joseph Gardner and 19-year-old Reginald Hart Jr at the Lancaster Heights Apartments in Normal. The alleged motive has not yet been revealed but police have said that drugs may have played a role, according to our news partner HOI ABC.
Harrison is charged with six counts of first degree murder.
During selection, several jurors said they own firearms, and all supported the right to defend yourself.
Harrison will be back in court on Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the McLean County Law and Justice Center for opening arguments.
