“One of the reasons I think there haven’t been as many people as we had hoped going to the drive-thru facility there is because we have so many other places where people can get tested,” the governor told WJBC’s Scott Miller.
The governor says testing guidelines have been loosened for frontline workers and anyone with COVID-like symptoms can get a test at the site.
The site at the McLean County Fairgrounds can test 250 people per day. On Sunday, the McLean County Emergency Management Agency reported 79 people were tested.
According to the governor, expanded testing is one of the key areas for reopening the state. The other three – contact tracing, more personal protective equipment, or PPE, and a treatment.
