BLOOMINGTON – A man faces identity theft and other charges for allegedly posing as a Peoria doctor to withdraw thousands of dollars from a Bloomington bank.
Bloomington Police said they arrested Stanley Williams, 59, of Chicago about 2:30 p.m. Monday after he allegedly used a fake ID to withdraw almost $5,000 from Commerce Bank at 1339 E. Empire St., on Bloomington’s east side.
In addition to identity theft, police booked Williams for obstructing and attempted financial institution fraud.
