BLOOMINGTON – Many businesses are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, including golf courses.
Under Gov. JB Pritzker’s stay-at-home executive order, golf courses are not allowed to be open.
Bloomington City Manager Tim Gleason told WJBC’s Scott Miller there have been some issues at city courses.
“We’ve got people out playing golf and the courses are not open, so we’ve had to address that,” Gleason said.
According to a Golf Bloomington Facbook post, the entrances to all city golf courses have been blocked off.
Gleason says people can still walk on the courses for exercise and to get outdoors, but make sure to practice social distancing.
The city says the courses are still being maintained so they are ready for play once given the approval to re-open.
