MCHD reports most COVID-19 cases since pandemic began

BLOOMINGTON – In what is the most significant increase since the coronavirus pandemic began, the McLean County Health Department announced 14 new cases, surging the county total to 62 confirmed cases.

“We have 14 new cases, bringing our total to 62, so we are currently sitting at 23 now that have recovered, six that are hospitalized and 31 that are at home in isolation,” McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight said. “We do currently have two of our six hospitalized clients that are in the ICU currently.”

Health officials report testing at the McLean County Fairgrounds has seen a slight increase with 148 tests conducted on Monday compared to 93 tests done on Sunday. Over the weekend the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced new guidelines for testing which can be found here: https://health.mcleancountyil.gov/735/FEMA-Testing-Site—Interstate-Center

Of the 62 cases, 64.5% are women, while 35.5% are males.

Heard on AM 1230 WJBC, Gov. Pritzker announced 1,287 additional cases of COVID-19, moving the state to 13,549 cases, including 380 deaths.
