SPRINGFIELD – State Rep. Allen Skillicorn (R-East Dundee) has had it with changing clocks twice a year, and he figures you have, too.
Regardless of whether Illinois adopts Daylight Time or Standard Time, Skillicorn says the state should just pick one and stop the twice-a-year change.
“Changing back and forth creates health concerns, it’s an added inconvenience, and, frankly, I think most people like it when it stays light a little bit longer in the day, so they don’t have to leave work when it’s dark outside,” Skillicorn said.
While the bill – which has passed the Senate – has yet to be assigned to a committee in the House, Skillicorn says he is optimistic it will get a hearing this spring.
