Walmart stores across Illinois offering free wellness services

BLOOMINGTON – To help people start the new year all Illinois Walmart stores will be offering free wellness services.

“Walmart Wellness Day” will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at all locations, including both stores in Bloomington-Normal.

The event will offer affordable flu shots, free health screenings, and an opportunity to talk with a local pharmacist and other health and wellness professionals.

The store has hosted the event since 2014 and has conducted more than 4.4 million free screenings.  Walmart said its on a mission to help customers stay away from the flu.

According to the CDC, flu activity is high in the U.S. and is expected to continue for weeks. Data from the Illinois Department of Public Health also indicates that the state has had widespread influenza activity the past several weeks.
