BLOOMINGTON – Authorities reported a sport utility vehicle hit a pedestrian on Bloomington’s east side Thursday night, shutting down the city’s busiest roadway for almost four hours.
The Bloomington Fire Department said it took a man to OSF St. Joseph Medical Center after the vehicle hit him at about 8:30 p.m. on Veterans Parkway, just north of East Empire Street.
His condition and other information about the man are not available.
Police closed Veterans Parkway in both directions from Eastland Drive north to Clearwater Avenue while accident reconstructionists conducted an investigation.
