BLOOMINGTON – The District 87 School Board has selected a former board member to fill a vacant seat.
Kiasha Henry has been picked to join the board after the resignation of Mary Yount. Henry’s appointment is until the next regular school board election in 2021.
Henry was previously appointed to the board from February 2016-April 2017. She ran for re-election but was defeated.
A graduate of Bloomington High School, she recently retired from the United States Postal Service.
Henry has been involved with several local organizations including JusticCorps, is a co-founder of Charm, Inc., and has volunteered at Heartland Headstart and the Children’s Discovery Museum.
